A radical adaptation of Shogi. Based on the conventional framework of Shogi, we innovate a cylindrical design for players to interact in a challenging way. It mitigates the restrictions that are intrinsically confined within the two edges of a Shogi board. The design grants players an opportunity to find an optimal placement and thus optimizes the flexibility of moving the chess.

The design grants players an opportunity to find an optimal placement for the chess pieces without being bounded by the borders, and thus optimises the flexibility of moving the game pieces.
Shogi Around” is light-weight, portable and easily accessible. With Kirigami, the pattern is achieved through letterpress and die-cut printing which can be applied to any paper type within 220-300gsm. It becomes a game that can be enjoyed by individuals who are blind or visually-impaired.
